Miles Farmers Market opened in 1971 as a small roadside
open-air farmers market selling fruits and vegetables. Frank Cangemi,
President of Miles Market at the age of 21, put in long hours with the
help of his father Ben, mother Dorothy, and sister Donna. The market soon
began developing a trust with its customers along with a reputation for
quality. This trust and reputation still exists today. The Market has gone through numerous major and minor remodelings throughout the decades. In doing so they have added a meat department that boasts some of the finest meat cuts in Cleveland, a cheese department that offers customers over 450 different brands, a deli department packed with the highest quality meats and cheeses, specialty groceries that are impossible to find anywhere in the area, a floral department that provides annuals and perannuals and fresh cut flowers, and a bakery department offering only the finest fresh baked pies, cakes and breads. The Market's major change occured in 1993 when the store went from a seasonal farmers market to a year-round operation. In addition to the previous changes, Miles then added it's very own wine department, Hidden Cellars, and home cooked prepared foods. |
