When it comes to buying Local produce there are two terms, locally and Ohio grown. The term locally grown means a product that can be delivered to our doors within a seven hour period. Ohio grown is what we specialize in, with long term relationships with grower’s right in our own back yard. We work with family owned farms like Burnham, Spiegelberg and Rittman Orchards along with Ohio Fruit Growers to bring us the best in apples, pears, cider, peaches and nectarines. Farms like Dutch Maid, Micheal’s and May’s supply us with radishes, green onions, green beans and an assortment of other vegetables and lettuces. We also utilize the local area auctions to bring back fruits and vegetables so fresh they are still warm from the fields.
In addition to Ohio our surrounding states like Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Michigan and Tennessee provide us with outstanding produce. We have developed great relationships with many of the growers and shippers in these areas over the years. A customer favorite is our beefsteak tomatoes from Tennessee available in the spring and early summer. Along with blueberries, the garden state of New Jersey supplies us with a vast amount of fresh vegetables. The states of New York and Michigan give us many great apples, plums and other fruit to supplement our Ohio farms.
With too many items to list look for the “Ohio Locally Grown” sign above the product to specify these great items.
